I am offering for sale this lovely Porsche 911 Carerra 2S (996 generation 2) Tiptronic Convertible in black with a full black leather interior. The car was first registered in 2002 and comes on an “02” plate (its present registration number is the original assigned number although I had it on a private plate until recently). The car is in good, indeed very good condition for a 20 year old vehicle. It has been owned for 12 years, purchased in 2012 and has been fully maintained. It comes with a full service history, mostly main dealer with more recently a Porsche local specialist service centre. Nothing has ever been neglected and it has been very well cared for these last 12 years. It was last serviced in May this year but has only covered a couple of hundred miles since then. During the service, two new front tyres –the Porsche recommended Pirelli tyres were fitted and the rear tyres are good too. A new exhaust was fitted just at the start of the pandemic. I have plenty of receipts to boot. The car comes with the added advantage of a black factory hard top. Both car and hard top are kept in my garage at home and the car rarely ventures out in inclement weather!

The car originally came with a 6 CD auto-changer and factory radio (with spare CD storage in a tray set on the dashboard). I have upgraded this to enable blue tooth, together with USB and auxiliary connection to the sound system. The radio remains in place and is fully functional but I have adapted the CD tray to enable the new unit to fit discreetly behind it. The console looks almost the same as when it came out of the factory –you will hardly notice the alteration! The system works by borrowing the auto-changer connector at the back of the radio (which is why the auto-changer is no longer connected). However, should you wish to revert to the original factory set up then that can easily be done in about 15 minutes –I have the auto-changer which can simply be plugged back in. I have the original CD tray too –the adapted one can simply be pulled out, the bluetooth/USB/aux system removed and the original CD tray inserted back. It’s up to your preference of course but whatever your choice, the original parts will accompany the car.

It goes without saying that the car drives beautifully. I simply use the drive (automatic) mode and let the car do all the work for me. There are of course paddles on the steering wheel should you with to slide the selector into manual mode and change gears yourself. I have rarely used the function, preferring to be pampered by the car! After 12 years of really enjoyable ownership I decided it was time for a change. I have a special birthday coming up and have now purchased a 997 –it was really a question of “now or never” and nothing else! Please get in touch if you are interested in the 996 and I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have (but please remember that the private plate is NOT included –it has now reverted back to LY02 RYB).
